Lester B. Pearson International Scholarship Program is a fully-funded scholarship for international students pursuing undergraduate studies at University of Toronto. It covers tuition, books, incidental fees and full residence support for four years.

The scholarship is awarded on the basis of academic performance, and students are selected from the pool of global applicants. Each year students from schools within and outside of Canada are selected as Lester B Pearson Scholars to continue their undergraduate studies at University of Toronto. Apart from their outstanding educational performance, candidates are also evaluated for their creativity, leadership qualities and expected contribution to the world community.
The scholarship can be awarded for any undergraduate degree program offered by the University of Toronto including but not limited to Life Sciences, Mathematics, Science, Commerce and Management, Computer Science, Engineering, Physical Education and Music.
The scholarship is tenable at the University of Toronto and covers tuition, textbooks and incidental fees. Moreover, the scholars will get full residence support for four years. The eligibility criterion for this fully-funded scholarship is to have a high academic performance, leadership skills, community involvement and future potential. It is highly competitive. These scholars can choose any undergraduate program from the 700+ programs that U of T offers. The scholarship covers tuition fees for four years, incidental costs and accommodation expenses.
In addition to the academic records, a good score on the TOEFL exam is also necessary for the scholarship. Apart from that, extracurricular activities are also a big part of the selection process. These can include debate competitions, MUNs, public speaking events, leadership positions in the student council etc.
They should be related to the fields of studies that the student is interested in. They are also expected to have a positive impact in the society through their creative thinking and work.
The first step of the application process is to be nominated by your school. This is done by approaching your school counselor and tell them everything about this scholarship, and ask them to nominate you for this program. Your school will need to submit a participation form to U of T, which is available on the Lester B. Pearson Scholarship page, so that U of T can verify the identity of your school and give it access to nominate students.
Once your school has nominated you, and you have also applied for admission to University of Toronto, then you can fill out the scholarship application through a personalized and secure link that will be sent to you by U of T. The scholarship selection committee will assess the candidates on the basis of their academic achievements, level of financial need, leadership potential, and commitment to contributing to the social, economic, and/or environmental issues in their communities and globally.
