What is the Express Entry System?

The Express Entry System is an application management system that manages applications for Canadian permanent residents. There are three ways to enter the Express Entry pool:

1) The first way is by applying through the Federal Skilled Worker Program.

2) The second way is by applying through the Canadian Experience Class Program.

3) The third way is by applying through the Provincial Nominee Programs.

In order to be eligible for Express Entry, you must have a valid job offer or a provincial nomination certificate. If you qualify for Express Entry, your job offer or provincial nomination will be reviewed. If it is determined that you are qualified, you will be invited to apply on the Express Entry website. If your work experience meets all of the requirements set out by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, your application will be processed by a centralized computer system, and an officer from one of C IC’s regional processing centers will review your application. Express Entry will only be implemented in select countries, so while the United States is not one of the countries currently participating in this program, we would like to offer you an opportunity to apply for Canadian permanent residence. If you qualify for Canadian permanent resident status through our Express Entry Program, you must meet all of the requirements for permanent residence as outlined in the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, including passing a medical examination.

How Does the System Work?

The system is designed to be as simple and efficient as possible. It only takes a few minutes to fill out the online form. Applicants must provide basic background information, such as their name, address, and contact information. They also need to provide some identification information, such as their passport or driver’s license number. They have to answer a few questions about their personal history and whether they have ever been subject to a security clearance investigation by any Canadian or foreign government agency.

They then have to provide details about their education and work experience in Canada and abroad over the past 10 years, including the names of employers and dates of employment for each job. Applicants who are 18 years old or older must also include their language proficiency level in either English or French on the form. Applicants must also provide a scanned copy of their immigration documents. In 2012, only 17% of immigrants in Canada had French-as-a-first language proficiency in order to obtain Canadian citizenship. In 2016, the percentage increased to 26%. Immigrants with French language proficiency were more likely to apply for citizenship than those without. The number of immigrants receiving Canadian citizenship in 2016 was over 607,000. The Citizenship Act gives the minister the power to withhold naturalization if the applicant is unable or unwilling to give relevant information, even if they are applying for a job under false pretenses.
